What is Anxiety?

 


I wanted to touch on the topic of Anxiety...

Anxiety - defined as being a fear or apprehension of what's to come in other words worrying about events that haven't yet occurred and expecting the worse possible outcome.

They say in some cases that it is a genetic disorder due to an imbalance of hormones which affect the way in which our brain processes things.
🌸🌸🌸
I'm sure I speak for many when I say we have all felt anxious at one point or another throughout our lives, such as attending that really important interview, sitting an exam or speaking in front of large crowds to name a few.

But how do we cope with it?
Exercise helps massively to reduce anxiety as well as practicing mindfulness through meditation and mastering the art of breath control.

Anxiety is extremely common nowadays and can impact your quality of life.
Do you allow your fears to consume you because of limiting beliefs?, Do you fill your mind with self sabotaging thoughts?, Is your perception of your self a negative one? Wondering if you're good enough or constantly seeking validation from others?

If so, it's ok - I have been there.
Trying to manage anxiety was always a challenge; my pulse would race, I'd feel flustered, nauseous, my mood shifted in a instant and my nerves were heightened to the point where I felt out of control.
I mean... can you imagine not feeling in control of your own behaviour. I would often question why I was experiencing this until I realised that I wasn't the only one.
